Short trip to the Saxon Ore Mountains

Travel the BLOCKLINE and get to know the Ore Mountains a little - we provide a few tips for your daily loop or a hike - into Seiffen, the toy village, to Altenberg, Frauenstein or even into the neighbouring Böhmen.
The Freiberg Railway will bring you from Holzhau directly to the mountain town of Freiberg. In the town centre, an incredibly beautiful little Old Town with narrow passageways to stroll along, and attractions such as the cathedral with its huge Silbermann organ, the minerals museum, the mining museum, and many more.
Dresden (50 km away) is more of a tourist magnet than ever, on account of the large-scale reconstruction of the Frauenkirche (Church of our Lady). The strange rocky landscape in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains is another unique attraction. (60 km)
